Deputy Isaiah Cordero, 32, was k*lled on Golden West Avenue in Jurupa Valley on December 29, 2022.

🔻Cordero was on a motorcycle. He walked up to the car for a traffic stop. McKay opened fire.

🔻McKay drove off. He crashed on the 15 Freeway in Norco and di*d in a shootout with deputies.

🔻His first strike was 1999, assault with a firearm. His second was 2005, first-degree robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. He had been sent to prison, paroled, and discharged.

🔻He was then convicted of a third strike, kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. He was awaiting a sentence that could have been 25 years to life.

🔻In November 2021, San Bernardino County Judge Cara D. Hutson cut his bail from $950,000 to $500,000. In October 2022 he made a $50,000 bond on a Fontana narcotics arrest. He was out.
