Look at this nearly pristine pair of bathing shoes. They were all the rage for women paddling in the sea in the Victorian period, but they rarely survive because of the effect of all that salt water. This pair from @CCastleMuseum were worn by Empress Eugenie. #FridayFavourite

This exhibition organised by Carisbrooke Castle Museum and supported by the #westonloanprogramme with @artfund, brings together over forty Anglo-Saxon artefacts from the collections of @britishmuseum, @EnglishHeritage and Isle of Wight Heritage Service.
Interesting article in today's Guardian - we'll have to search the Bible (used by Charles) on display at the museum and see whether it has the "Dum Spiro Spero" (While I breathe, I hope) motto! https://t.co/FMYxDVOWUZ
Do you have memories of Joe Carstairs' time on the Isle of Wight? Westward Ho! Productions are making a new documentary and would love to hear from you: [email protected]#IWHiddenHeroes
Fantastic to hear that our new exhibition @CCastleMuseum about @IWPride is being well-received by local and international visitors! https://t.co/EDn5SR4jEw
Did you spot the items connected to Princess Beatrice on Sunday's #antiquesroadshow? A monogramed chemise and a chair (made by a WWI veteran) part of the furnishings when she lived at @EHCarisbrooke - would love to know where all the other things from the Governor's House went!
Thanks to our volunteer Charlotte for this lovely tweet - so pleased to be able to support and celebrate @IWPride! #IOWnMyDestiny#LoveWins https://t.co/Q9yB7qSqqk
In the run-up to @IWPride, delighted to find our curator @CCastleMuseum busy today putting together a display about last year's hugely successful 1st Isle of Wight Pride. Great her contemporary collections policy saves these items as tomorrow's history. #LoveWins
