Survivors of domestic violence and abuse:
You didn't 'attract abusers into your life'. Our societies create large numbers of abusers, and those large numbers of abusers are going to abuse a lot of people.
This didn't happen because of who you were. You are doing your best in a society where abuse is very common.
It's societies that need to do the long, hard work of creating fewer abusers and holding the existing ones accountable.

What you post on social media will affect people you can't see. Your comments on Twitter could either perpetuate a culture of victim-blaming, or help create a space online where survivors of abuse feel safe...and heard.

We are one of more than 70 orgs calling on NSW Govt to remove requirement to prove injury in Victims Support applications. It is traumatic to have to keep retelling your story. Establishing act of violence should be sufficient. https://t.co/AKDraFCZaN @MarkSpeakman@natwardmlc
