The Department for Person's with Disabilities had its traditional Pig Roast last week! This celebration of staff, clients and volunteer is so dear to us - Thank you to all who helped make it a great success
We are so excited to announce that, thanks
to our supporters, Catholic Charities Diocese of
Paterson won Safeco's Make More Happen Awards!
The $10,000 grant will go a long way to providing
much-needed services, including giving children and
parents the chance to go back to school with ease, help
a family with rent payment, and supply our food pantry
that gives families more variety for their table. Thank
you to our supporters for believing in our mission and
the difference we can make to the people we serve.
Our development director, Hazel Yaptangco, received
the check with our friends John and Patrick Sullivan
from Delta Associates, who nominated us. A huge
thanks to Danielle Bain, NJ Territory Manager for
SafeCo Insurance, who helped make this day possible.

Two years ago on this day, DPD's first executive director, Rev. Monsignor John B. Wehrlen, passed on.
We celebrate this day with memories, gratitude, and the spirit of community he so courageously and persistently upheld. Father Wehrlen provided a safe space for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a time when little to no resources were available. We hold dear the memory of Father Wehrlen, whose legacy continues to inspire our mission. His dedication and passion for serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities will remain in our hearts.
Let's take a moment to express our gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Your support and commitment have been the cornerstone of our success and together, we will continue to make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
Thank you for upholding his legacy and making DPD and Catholic Charities whole.
