Six Bangladeshi nationals died in a fire at a shop in Queenstown Eastern Cape during the early hours of the morning.

The victims were reportedly asleep when the blaze broke out at around 3am. A seventh Bangladeshi national was injured and is receiving treatment in hospital.

The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
