6th graders in the Big Projects enrichment time are winding down their projects! The whole semester was spent working on them! Water color & ink, block printing, torn paper collage, ceramic animal tiles. @CCLSChargers#arted#middleschoolart#arteducation
Day 1 of the big expressive self-portrait...usually students’ favorite art project in their middle school careers. Stay tuned for further PROGress!

The 32nd Annual Fiala Egg Drop was held this morning and students got to drop their projects from the roof of the new school building. Students could only use toothpicks and glue to protect their egg. 15 out of 41 survived. @CCLSChargers#arted#arteducation#middleschoolart
@OQArtStudio@CCLSChargers Thank you! It's been a favorite project of mine for 32 years. Technology has made it much easier. 32 years ago, students drew grids on an actual b&w photograph and estimated the values. Now, I use the Photoshop filter MOSAIC to do it. Grid is already created.
Fifth graders did blind contour drawings which are warm up exercises before we get into more detailed drawings. Students (including some virtual ones) didn’t look at their paper when they drew their hands. @CCLSChargers#arted#arteducation#middleschoolart
Bought some new Potter’s Choice cone 6 glazes from Amaco to finish out the overlapping glazes board. Lots of experimentation, but some of these combinations are amazing! Very reduction like. @CCLSChargers#arted#arteducation#ceramicsteacher
@sassycassyck Awwww, NEDDY!!!!
She's still creating things?! That's awesome! Is that air-dry clay? Looks great! I'd love to hear more some time about how she did things in art these last 2 months.
Miss Ms. Neddy!! Graduation tonight...thinking back to last year.
@MsYoungArt @CCLSChargers Thank you! Very different way to do this project, but I’m super happy with what they came up with! It was a learning experience for me too. Going to keep these ideas in mind for the future.
