Sec. Rubio: "Iran is a rich country. One of the reason why Iran is in shambles is because every penny that this regime ever gets — be it through sanctions relief or through the oil they're able to get out — they invest it in Hezbollah. They invest it in Hamas... They should be spending billions of dollars building their country, but instead they use it to sponsor terrorism."
Ukraine struck 4 oil depots in the Stavropol Krai region of Russia this morning and 3 Russian oil tankers in the Black Sea.
The fuel crisis keeps worsening in Russia
I've figured something out.
we know Ukraine has been using drones to strike Russian oil refineries, which has caused significant disruption to Russia's oil industry. I initially thought this would affect Russia's oil exports, thereby reducing its fiscal revenue and ultimately undermining its ability to sustain the war. But I now learn that the oil Russia exports to China is primarily crude oil, which is then refined in Chinese refineries—not Russian ones. That means the Ukrainian drone strikes haven't actually disrupted Russia's oil exports abroad.
