Critical Care is a play written from extensive PhD research & creative collab with women who were ICU nurses during the pandemic by @StaceyMoonTrac2
ACE funded
Critical Care lifts the masks worn by women who were nurses working in ICU's in the UK during the pandemic. It amplifies their voices & personal experiences as women, as nurses, as mothers, as primary carers for vulnerable relatives & as members of a team.
Please take a listen to me talking about my journey into research & my play Critical Care as a guest on a new podcast l- The Wilderness of Creativity.

Super proud that out of 4643 scripts my play Critical Care based on research into the C19 exp of ICU nurses, made it to the top 3% of the BBC writers room open pitch. It hasn't progressed to the short list, but it feels so validating & I eagerly await dev feedback. @COVUNI_CAMC
Planning is ongoing for the future of Critical Care. Here is a link to a fantastic short video put together by Ian Dearman @MansfieldPalace. If you're interested in supporting or being involved in the work please get in touch: [email protected]

This year I presented extracts of a play I have written based on extensive, creative & collaborative research with women who worked as ICU nurses during the pandemic, about their experiences at the @BACCNUK conference. #CovUniPGRpresent@CU_ReCap
We made it on the official @BACCNUK 2023 conference album.
Prior to presenting some of the actors got into character by attempting the hospital bed making challenege- they didn't win, but made a very good effort, such a shame that wasn't captured 😄
Evaluation of the R&D & planning for the future of this play is underway. Just some of our audience feedback: 'I think it's very important that this play exists' 'it validates what everyone went through' 'we need this so much' 'brilliantly written & performed. Gripping'
What a process! I've learnt so much, identified areas for development in the script & have worked with incredible people. So much valuable feedback to reflect on. Audiences found it raw, real, moving & important as a document of history which shares the truth of the C-19 ICU exp
Thank you @BACCNUK for hosting extracts from Critical Care at your conference. We were all incredibly moved that the play resonated with so many & have taken on board feedback. We look forward to continuing our relationship to try to realise the play into a touring production.
Looking forward to presenting scenes from Critical Care & testing out some of the wonderful sound design by @DerekNisbet10 at the @BACCNUK '23 conference. We hope to gain further dev feedback to support the future of the work. Thank you to the BACCN for giving us the opportunity
2 nurses burst into tears in rehearsal because they couldn't believe that we were telling their stories. I really want to get this play made & touring so more nurses can feel that their experiences are being represented. Please support our R&D sharing: https://t.co/od6f5dXxWY
