Today is #IndigenousPeoplesDay. We continue to work to support and uplift the work and culture of Indigenous peoples.
We are proud to of our social justice work as we continue to partner with the Indigenous community to ensure a quality education and future for all students.
Recently, @NYSUTStreasurer was honored at the NAACP New York Branch annual Freedom Fund Gala.
In addition to moments of solidarity and honoring the grassroot efforts of leaders like our secretary-treasurer, the gala also awards scholarships. Congratulations, Philippe 🎉

Having a secure retirement is one of the things that draws people into public service. But unfortunately, in NY State not all pensions are created equal.
It’s important for every union member and public servant to be familiar with the #FixTier6 campaign. Tier 5 and 6 members should know how they are affected and workers in other tiers should join the fight to defend our professions.
In this video, I walk through the impacts of retirement tier inequity and how it affects our members. Please share widely so we can spread the word to #FixTier6! Learn more at https://t.co/hDRRvUMDEg. @NYSUT@NYSAFLCIO
