I did some quick math and for the dedicated 22lr rifles the total is 11,512. I didn't check the FRN to confirm if others are 22lr, so this is the low end number.

The 68,406 now-banned guns declared to the Canadian govt. for its buyback program belong to 38,412 different owners, according to documents tabled in Parliament in response to questions from @AndrewLawton.

At least 11,628 which are .22 calibre plinking rifles (I counted myself and may have missed some).
The most numerous of all declared firearms being the GSG-16 at 5,162.
What are we doing here? What a waste of time and resources. This will not improve safety.
