Most #copper#mining projects destroy capital.
Some create massive value.
There’s a simple metric majors look at first:
NPV5 ÷ Initial CAPEX
Here is the ranking of major global copper porphyry deposits.

The results are in, and Alberta ended the year with an $8.3 billion surplus.
As we face rapidly changing economic conditions this year due to global trade challenges, the government will use the surplus to fortify Alberta’s economic position, repay debt and save for the future. Even in uncertain times, Alberta is standing strong.

I congratulate Prime Minister @MarkJCarney on his minority government election victory last night.
I also want to sincerely thank @PierrePoilievre for his powerful and principled advocacy against the last decade’s punitive taxation and anti-resource policies that have made our country weaker, more divided and overly-dependent on the United States.
Mr. Poilievre’s vision for a safer, more affordable, united and prosperous Canada drove the policy debate in this country for the last several years and has inspired millions to see the unique potential of our nation. While Liberals and New Democrats demeaned and demonized Albertans, our values and our industries for political gain, Mr. Poilievre made empowering Albertans and our energy sector a cornerstone of his campaign. His respect and admiration for Albertans could not have been clearer. He is and continues to be a true friend of Alberta.
As Premier, I invite the Prime Minister to immediately commence working with our government to reset the relationship between Ottawa and Alberta with meaningful action rather than hollow rhetoric. A large majority of Albertans are deeply frustrated that the same government that overtly attacked our provincial economy almost unabated for the past 10 years has been returned to government.
As Premier, I will not permit the status quo to continue. Albertans are proud Canadians that want this nation to be strong, prosperous, and united, but we will no longer tolerate having our industries threatened and our resources landlocked by Ottawa.
In the weeks and months ahead, Albertans will have an opportunity to discuss our province’s future, assess various options for strengthening and protecting our province against future hostile acts from Ottawa, and to ultimately choose a path forward.
As Premier, I will facilitate and lead this discussion and process with the sincere hope of securing a prosperous future for our province within a united Canada that respects our province’s constitutional rights, facilitates rather than blocks the development and export of our abundant resources, and treats us as a valued and respected partner within confederation.
Our government will be holding a special caucus meeting this Friday to discuss this matter further. I will have more to say after that meeting is concluded.

Albertans understand what we are worth and what we contribute through our hard work. A Carney win could push Alberta into independence and a new relationship with the U.S.
If Carney wins, secession begins.

At his request, I met with Prime Minister Mark Carney @MarkJCarney today. We had a very frank discussion in which I made it clear that Albertans will no longer tolerate the way we've been treated by the federal Liberals over the past 10 years.
I provided a specific list of demands the next Prime Minister, regardless of who that is, must address within the first six months of their term to avoid an unprecedented national unity crisis.
This includes:
• Guaranteeing Alberta full access to oil and gas corridors to the north, east, and west
• Repealing Bill C-69 (aka. “no new pipelines act”)
• Lifting the tanker ban off the BC coast
• Eliminating the oil and gas emissions cap, which is a production cap
• Scrapping the so-called Clean Electricity Regulations
• Ending the prohibition on single use plastics
• Abandoning the net-zero car mandate
• Returning oversight of the industrial carbon tax to the provinces
• Halting the federal censorship of energy companies
I also made it clear that Alberta, as owner of the resource, will not accept an export tax or restriction of Alberta’s oil and gas to the United States, and that our province is no longer agreeable to subsidizing other large provinces who are fully capable of funding themselves. Lastly, I made it clear that federal mismanagement of Jasper and Banff national parks resulted in last year’s tragic wildfire in Jasper and is endangering Banff, and the situation must be rectified immediately.
With the federal election about to be called, I encourage all Albertans to get involved in what is likely one of the most pivotal and important elections in our nation’s history, and to support the party and candidates that have consistently advocated for freeing Alberta from federal overreach and the repeated economic attacks our province has faced from Ottawa over the past 10 years.

Yesterday's NR that Doubleview Gold had a "foot in the door" & might potentially collaborate with one of the richest countries in the world is HUGE!
In my opinion, major #mining companies aren't happy with yesterday's news!
Here's why 👇
Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) is the world's 9th largest sovereign wealth fund with ~$526 billion under its management.
Qatar Mining Company is a 100% state-owned mining company that manages its mining assets both domestically & internationally.

Qatar has expressed interest in a critical minerals.
Qatar has the money to buy a critical minerals deposit as well as the expertise to put it into production themselves!
The major #mining companies that are closely watching the company's Hat project, which is potentially one of the largest sources of #scandium in the world & potentially one of the largest critical mineral deposits in North America, undoubtedly weren't pleased with yesterday's news!
