For #SOTSEF in 2020 the TRACE project put out award winning musical performances and artwork exhibitions, for #SOTSEF this year we are aiming even higher! Keep your eyes peeled for what we will be up to on the 7th May and how you can get involved. #plastics#waste#WEEE@CDTSIS
Perhaps unsurprisingly the biggest contributors to household WEEE waste generation in terms of weight are large household appliances (i.e ovens) and refrigerant containing appliances (i.e fridges) according to recent Environment Agency Data for the UK. #ewaste#WEEE@CDTSIS
Multi-CDT Conference on Clean Energy and Sustainable Infrastructure, 5/6 April 2022 at The Diamond, University of Sheffield – free to all internal and external participants! Great presentations from @EnergyCDT, @CDTSIS and @cdtpv students!

In 2020 our artist @SusannahPal exhibited her thought provoking artwork at the Hartley Library at the University of Southampton as part of the TRACE e-waste project. We can't wait to see what she creates for TRACE-P examining the plastic pollution crisis! #plastic#pollution
What is #e-waste? Any waste with wires, plugs, batteries, electrical or electronic components, even the smallest battery, wire or computer chip makes an item e-waste. Even small items like vape pens, handheld fans and charger cables count as e-waste. #waste@CDTSIS

Notice how the reimagined painting is brighter than Van Gogh’s original, gone are the fossil fuel burning factories and the smog-laden skies. In combination with vertical gardens, electric vehicles and greener cities, air quality may be improved. How would you #EngineerTheFuture?
Well done #TRACE great news that you won a National Recycling Award for your project! @CDTSIS is looking forward to working with you on outreach projects next year!

@EnviroTaff@NRAwards
The judges praised this project for being glorious and innovative, while targeting a very serious issue. It is so different - the idea of bringing different generations together and combining art and music was fascinating.
