Kawana Fuji- #62/World Top 100
1936 - CH Alison
Kawana is often called the Japanese Pebble Beach. I will tell you it’s BETTER and I adore Pebble.
The father of Japanese golf architecture, Alison is a Harry Colt disciple and a master of the craft. Kawana is possibly his best work and it’s certainly his grandest landscape.
This publicly accessible resort provides a great alternative in a place where most elite golf is very private. The service and setting is amazing. Anyone can book a stay and play.
The course is set on a gorgeous bay that provides amazing views. The land is undulating, giving you the feel of links and heathland golf. Exhilarating golf.
The elevation changes are truly impossible to show in picture form. You must see it in person. It’s surely one of the hardest walks in all of golf but the crescendos are all worth it. It’s a routing that ebbs and flows to and from the bay, always building anticipation.
A true masterpiece that can be added to anyone’s bucket list!
The ACC has officially announced that the refs in the Duke-Virginia game got it wrong, and Kyle Filipowski should have been awarded the free throws. No explanation as to why the refs came to the wrong conclusion.
