Eating more plant foods and reducing animal-based foods can help lower greenhouse-gas emissions, land use and pressure on freshwater resources. It can also reduce the land needed for food production, creating more space for ecosystems and biodiversity.

Our food choices affect land, water, biodiversity and greenhouse-gas emissions. FAO says agrifood systems account for about one-third of human-made GHG emissions, while sustainable diets can help protect biodiversity and ecosystems.
Choosing more plant-based foods is one practical step toward SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption), SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
We need more conscious choices, less waste and a food system that respects people, animals and the planet.

Did you know that today, 15 October, was the International Day of Rural Women.
The day recognizes the vital role rural women play in agriculture, food security, rural development, environmental stewardship and poverty reduction. It was first observed by the UN in 2008.

Proud to share that I have successfully completed the 2026 Global Youth Climate Training (GYCT)
The training strengthened my understanding of climate policy, energy transition, climate finance, youth advocacy and climate action. Grateful to the Global Youth Coalition, Oxford Net Zero and the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment for this opportunity.
Now, I look forward to putting these lessons into action and continuing to amplify youth and frontline voices for climate justice.

🧵A market without a marketplace.
In Kyakaboga, Hoima, a market built for oil refinery-affected families was handed over on 26 June 2025. The community, however, reports it unoperational.
Stagnant market activity. Poor roads. Resettlement without access to economic opportunity!
Kampala’s green spaces are more than just beautiful landscapes; they are essential to a healthy, sustainable city. But what does development mean if we destroy the very ecosystems that sustain us?
We need to protect our green spaces, not sacrifice them for concrete and money.
Tomorrow we shall be at buganda road court to stand in solidarity with our fellow activists as they return for bail applications once again

Every developing city needs a sustainable ecosystem. Cutting down trees that sustain it does not amount to development; it undermines the very environment that supports urban life.
Why destroy green spaces?
Development must never come at the expense of our environment.
@sharifahbuzeki Dear ED @KCCAUG and @MoWT_Uganda , what is with the growing trend of cutting down trees? Kindly address this issue as you plan for the city. No need of cutting these trees that and after we plant flowers, they won't do us any good. Thank you
