Also to mark CECA’s 30th anniversary, we are proud to launch 30 Projects for 30 Years - a campaign celebrating the outstanding #infrastructure delivered by CECA members over the past three decades.
Across the campaign, we will highlight projects that demonstrate the skill, innovation and professionalism of the UK’s civil engineering contractors: improving safety, connectivity, resilience and quality of life for communities across the country.
Our first profile is the Bath Spa Platform Widenings project, delivered by MegaTech Projects Ltd for Network Rail.
Working within the highly sensitive environment of a Grade I listed station, the project used MegaTech’s innovative Expanded Polystyrene platform system to widen and enhance 220 metres of platforms, while preserving key Victorian features and keeping the station operational.
Delivered through a tightly controlled 16-day possession in 2017, the scheme improved safety, accessibility and passenger flow for thousands of daily users, while also supporting jobs and supply-chain activity.
It is a strong example of what CECA members do best: solving complex delivery challenges, working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders, and delivering infrastructure that serves communities for the long term.
We look forward to sharing more examples throughout CECA’s anniversary year.
30 years. 30 projects. Working for Infrastructure.

To mark CECA’s 30th anniversary, we are proud to launch our CECA *30 Under 30* campaign - celebrating the next generation of talent shaping the future of UK #infrastructure.
Across the campaign, we will be highlighting young professionals from across CECA’s membership who are already making a real impact in civil engineering: delivering major projects, developing new skills, championing innovation, and helping to build a stronger, more sustainable industry.
Our first profile is Cat Jones of Balfour Beatty plc, an Assistant Engineering Manager within the company’s power business, where she manages design across projects with a combined value of approximately £500 million.
Cat is a strong role model for future engineers, acting with integrity and ambition while working to improve the industry for the next generation. She aspires to complete an MBA, achieve Chartered Engineer status, and progress to Director level at Balfour Beatty.
CECA’s story over the past 30 years has been built by the people and businesses that deliver, upgrade and maintain the infrastructure the UK relies on. The next 30 years - the future of our industry - will be shaped by talented young professionals like Cat.
Congratulations, Cat - and thank you for helping us launch CECA 30 Under 30.

30 years. One mission. A new look for CECA.
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we are introducing an evolved visual identity for CECA - one that reflects our role as a modern, authoritative voice for the UK’s civil engineering contractors.
Our brand has changed. Our purpose has not.
We remain focused on representing our members, championing infrastructure delivery, and supporting the companies that build, maintain and upgrade the infrastructure the UK depends on.
Marking 30 years of Working for Infrastructure: 1996-2026.
