I took a swimming class when I was 7, one of the games we played was “Tarzan”. They put all the girls on one side of the pool and told all the boys to swim over and rescue their “princesses”. I remember some girls asking why they had to sit instead of swim. #lesson11
@Jason21414592 I agree with both these arguments.. it’s hard to determine what children are taking away from these movies.. I remember playing the damsel in distress in elementary school but I have never internalized those thoughts into adulthood.
As a child I never noticed how women were highly sexualized in Disney movies. They teach children that women can use their body to manipulate people or that women need to be rescued by men to survive. The portrayal of women in these movies is absurd to me now! #lesson11
@PEduc307 We’re in a class that involves learning through technology. There were a million other ways you could have addressed this without insulting someone. I think you should rethink some of your tweets before posting.
@marinad307 I think that's a little dramatic. Like someone mentioned he's simply working with them, if he can't control himself around other women then perhaps he shouldn't be married. It's thinking like that which prevents society from moving forward & giving everyone an equal opportunity.
Youth should be involved in finding a solution to privacy and digital technology. We know a lot more about technology than older generations, we’re the population with the highest usage, yet, we barely have a voice in protecting our privacy. #lesson9
I feel like it would be beneficial to make it a requirement for companies to create a simpler version of "Terms and Conditions" that is shortened and reader friendly so we can better understand how our privacy is protected #lesson9
For those of you who download photo editing apps, how many of you actually read the terms and conditions before downloading? Do you have risky photos on your phone? Diduknow“5.5% of all apps have access to your pictures - and it’s not always justified” #lesson9#thespyinmypocket
Currently watching episode 4 “the spy in my pocket” from https://t.co/9zxfIAR0xB. I just learned that the flashlight function on our phones uses our ud-ID to track our location and sell the info to companies 🤯 #lesson9
I found it scary when Jihan mentioned that when conducting her research on ISIS she always felt the need to link her work to school to “prove” to the government that she was in fact just writing a research paper. #lesson9
Crypto Cat is an encrypted chatting software that allows us to talk to our friends without being monitored by the government, work, etc.. even though I would probably never use this, it’s useful to know it exists. #privacy#lesson9
