Remembering Rip Torn who passed away this month 7 years ago on July 9, 2019, at the age of 88.

Many fans knew Rip Torn through his unforgettable performances in Men in Black, DodgeBall, and Disney’s Hercules, but his remarkable career stretched across film, television, theater, animation, and video games for more than six decades.

Torn built his career around commanding screen presence, sharp comedy, intensity, and a voice that could make both animated gods and intimidating authority figures unforgettable. His performance as Artie earned him an Emmy Award, while Cross Creek brought him an Academy Award nomination.

This July marks seven years since we lost him, but his work continues to live on whenever fans revisit the films, shows, games, and characters he helped bring to life.
