At Shelbourne Knee Center, we focus only on knees. Why? Because specializing enables us to find better ways to get you off the sidelines and back to living.

Our research shows patients who were scheduled for surgical treatment of recalcitrant patellar tendinosis tended to have longer patellar tendons

Check out our September Blog! This month’s blog highlights the importance of full symmetrical extension ROM. Not only in ACL rehab but in all knee conditions.

After ACL reconstruction, an athlete’s primary goal is to return to sport at pre-injury level while minimizing risk of subsequent injury
We found no association with achieving strength limb symmetry after surgery with subsequent ACL injury rates

Our goal being to decrease swelling and increase ROM this first post-op week.
Patients did not have an increase in common complications seen after TKA following our rehabilitation protocol.
For one of our posters being presented at this years APTA Combined Sections Meeting, we looked at complication rate and ROM following our 1 week post-op modified bed-rest protocol following TKA #TKA#APTACSM#kneerehab#PhysicalTherapy
BMI definitely is a factor to consider with moving forward with the decision for TKA, but there may not be a specific cut-off value appropriate to apply to each patient.
When assessing a patient’s readiness for TKA, there are several factors to consider. Each patient needs to be assessed individually with a multifactorial medical, physical, and mental readiness consideration.
We believe in a collaborative approach. Surgeons and Rehab Staff working closely together to ensure all patients receive the best comprehensive treatment. Meet our team! https://t.co/VWkE7ZRri0

A common source of knee pain is general deconditioning leading to asymmetries. Luckily a deconditioned knee is treatable with the correct rehabilitation approach.
