If you want your athlete to gain weight they're going to need to eat more kcal, protein, carbs, and drink more fluid.
A 6'0 185 lb. athlete is going to need 6,000+ kcal, 200 g protein, 500 g CHO , 90 g+ of fat daily to gain muscle if they are training > 2 hours per day 7 days a week. (Often little rest days in those that reach out to us).
✔️First track your kcal and know how much you are eating. Then add in another 300-500 kcal daily. Focus on being consistent.
✔️Gaining weight takes time. Too many try to eat too much too quick and either quit or end up gaining fat and not muscle.

20 years. 17 division titles. 6 Super Bowls.
The Tom Brady Patriots’ standard was not built on slogans. It was built on alignment.
Every player, coach, and staff member had to answer the same question: what can I do to help the team win? That is not a motivational idea. It is an operational standard. When selfishness enters a building, role clarity gets distorted, communication erodes, and the mission becomes secondary.
Winning cultures do not require everyone to have the same role. They require everyone to respect the role they have. The backup quarterback, the practice squad receiver, the veteran starter, the position coach, and the equipment staff all contribute to the same structure when the mission is clear.
The lesson for quarterbacks is direct. Leadership is not demanding the offense serve you. Leadership is organizing yourself so you can serve the offense.
Command without ego creates trust.
🚨 CONTROL THE CONTROLLABLES
One of the biggest mistakes high school football recruits and parents make during the recruiting process is focusing on things they cannot control instead of maximizing the things they CAN control every single day
You cannot control:
• Who offers you
• What level recruits you first
• Recruiting rankings
• Social media hype
• Coaching changes
• Scholarship numbers
But you CAN control:
• Your work ethic
• Your film
• Your grades
• Your body development
• Your attitude
• Your communication
• Your consistency
• Your character
From a coaching and scouting perspective, the players who separate themselves long term are usually the ones who stay disciplined with the small daily habits. Coaches are constantly evaluating more than just talent. They are evaluating maturity, accountability, effort, toughness, football IQ, body language, consistency, and whether a player is someone they can trust inside their program.
A great highlight tape might get attention initially, but consistent development, academics, communication skills, and character are what sustain recruiting opportunities over time.
One thing recruits and parents also need to understand is that there are opportunities at EVERY level of football.
Too many athletes fall into the “D1 or bust” mindset and completely ignore outstanding opportunities at:
• Division II
• Division III
• NAIA
• JUCO
• USports
• FCS
There are great coaches, degrees, development opportunities, and football careers at every level. The goal should not be chasing logos or social media validation. The goal should be finding the RIGHT fit academically, athletically, financially, and personally.
The players who trust the process, stay patient, continue developing, and control the controllables usually give themselves the best chance to succeed long term
Recruiting is not won online
It is earned daily through discipline, consistency, development, accountability, and production
