Biggest tip for AI story thumbnails: make them for TVs.

That's where your viewers pick what to watch, and YouTube on a TV runs in DARK MODE.

So the moody cinematic thumbnail you spent an hour on blends right into a black screen, and they pick the brighter video next to it.

The fix: go brighter than your instinct tells you.

A dark frame with dramatic shadows looks incredible on your monitor in a lit room. In a living room at 9pm it disappears into the black. White tones and bright colours are what stand out on that screen.

Here's the prompt I use:
