Students have been busy planting our school garden, and the seedlings are growing fast with all of this heat and humidity! We're excited to see how things grow over the summer- and hoping for a big harvest in the fall!
Last week, sixth graders went head to head with a highly skilled team of staff for a competitive game of soccer! The score stayed close throughout the game, however the sixth graders ultimately won the game with a one point lead over the staff team.

We held a fun Celebration of Learners assembly last Friday that was all about honoring outgoing CES principal Mary Anderson! Each grade created a special project and certificate to share with Ms. Anderson, the whole school performed a song, and we celebrated with a trivia game.
Thank you to the CES PTA, school board members, community members, and businesses who made appreciation week so special for all of the staff at CES! We truly appreciate the kindness and care that was shown to us this week.

Our first ever “STEAM Week” was a great success! Students in every grade level had an opportunity to participate in hands-on workshops during April 6-10th. Students in the Tech Ambassador program practiced their leadership skills as they shared knowledge with their peers.
CES students worked hard in music and physical education classes recently to bring the energy and excitement of musical theater to life through dance. Each grade level showcased choreography inspired by a classic Broadway hit at a special school wide performance!

First and second graders recently took a field trip to Mills Riverside Park in Jericho, where they spent the day studying nature and growing friendships!
Our 5th graders capped off an incredible time learning at STARBASE Vermont by launching their self-designed rockets last week! They also explored flight simulators and learned through many hands on science and engineering activities. Thank you to the STARBASE team!
Congratulations to both teams of CES students who participated in the statewide Jr Iron Chef competition on 3/14/26! These culinary experts mastered their skills over the course of five months and created recipes that wowed the judges at the 18th annual competition.
