On Friday, students @ceu protest. Join us!
📢What are our demands?
✅ Employ PhD students
✅ Raise stipends for MA students
✅ Increase course provision for BA students
✅ Provide adequate accommodation for BA students
✅ Ensure transparency and accountability of CEU management
On October 17th we held a Town Hall for the student body to share their concerns about life conditions and think together about future actions against CEU administration's detrimental policies
It is easy to talk about open society, democracy, liberty, and equality. But what about recognising that @ceu student receive stipends below the at-risk-of-poverty line? An equitable society cannot emerge if the administration (@ShaliniRanderia) disregards basic needs of students
Flashback to Graduation. 🎓
“CEU is not just a place of academic excellence and disciplined hard work. It is, above all, also an ethos, an unflinching ethical commitment to the values of an open, tolerant society we all hold dear." - Shalini Randeria, President and Rector.
⁉️ Do you want to know everything about why we are protesting? Are you aware of CEU's recent policies that affected the student body? Do you still have questions for us?
📢 KEEP FOLLOWING US, in the next couple of weeks we'll post detailed information about our protest.

Our goal was to highlight the University's "achievements":
- Refusal to increase PhD and MA stipends
- Insecurity about students' legal status in Austria
- Cancellation of the OLive program
- Cancellation of CEU parental leave
- Refusal to provide PhD students with work contracts
"It's a disgrace to celebrate while the administration carries out fiscally exploitative and discriminatory policies against the student body.
...profit driven education should cease to exist. No normalisation with neoliberal education
No celebration under exploitation"
On 19 Jan 2023 @ceu unilaterally decided to end OLIve, a refugee access program at CEU, hurting the most vulnerable members of our community. After months of protest by students @IStandWithOLIve, CEU issued only a partial concession. Fight for refugee education at CEU!

We are fighting for our basic right to not live in poverty, to be compensated for the work we do fairly and to be treated with dignity!
