What does it mean to be an evolutionary biologist? We tackle this topic in a short film that is part of the broader impacts work we are doing for K-12 science classrooms for our @NSF_Bio grant. Film by @Marita_Davison, Jen Moslemi, @CaravanLab. https://t.co/pmEVZf1Mai
Hello friends! It's been a while, but we're back.
We are sure you all have many questions for us, and we hope to answer them in the coming weeks. In the mean time, for more information, visit our website: https://t.co/z5QBV9Me5Z

Excited to share the published version (out now in @PLOSGenetics) of the introductory review that I wrote with Mike Grundler and @gbradburd about ancestral recombination graphs! https://t.co/a885WGt8oy
One of the biggest (scary) eye-openers to me from this project was seeing just how much our trees differed with relatively small changes in filtering parameters, like in the comparison shown here between two trees inferred from datasets that only differed in minor allele filters
I'm happy to share that our paper (@alex_lewy @memegb @cewagnerlab) was accepted in SysBio! https://t.co/QcE3hNfh2u

Hi All, I'm recruiting a new grad student to join my lab at UWyoming in Fall 2024. Broadly speaking, we work on speciation and adaptation in birds. More info about the opportunity is here: https://t.co/J3qDdlUeqE
Thanks for spreading the word.
In this new paper we show how cycles of speciation and hybridization have facilitated exceptionally fast adaptive radiations of cichlid fish into hundreds of species across four trophic kevels in just 16“000 years. @joana_meier https://t.co/BmN8hGxSq2
I'll be presenting some hot-off-the-presses data & results from my dissertation research with @cewagnerlab at #AFS153! Come check out my talk during the symposium on graduate & early career research in genetics-genomics -- bright and early at 8:20am on Monday
Conceptual and empirical bridges between micro- and macroevolution. Jonathan Rolland convened a working group in the before-times, when it was normal to sit in a room full of people w/o masks or rapid-tests and talk about things. Now out at @natureecoevo https://t.co/I7opG4sncw
Congrats to fellow @cewagnerlab alum, @LuciaCombrink, on her really cool eco-evolutionary feedback study in trout in the Wind River Range that just came out in @journal_evo! https://t.co/WwtDSep6EU
"...we need to think about how we can provide faculty members with the support they need... Are we providing access to caregiving? Are we providing funding to hire another graduate student? Are we providing more time by granting sabbaticals or [teaching] releases?"
Our action plan is featured in this @Nature article by @Scatter_Cushion ! "What we want now is for [funding agencies] to acknowledge the data and take accountability", says our founder @prettysmartsci

I have grad student positions available! Looking for MS/PhD students with fundamental interests in evolutionary biology who want to work with genomic data applied to questions of conservation relevance. All projects are focused on freshwater fishes. https://t.co/RVutnTAl90
