Valentine’s Day should be about whole hearts, not heart break. Sadly for us it is about heart break.
Frosty went in for his knee prosthetic today, everything was perfect and ready. Before he even got to be operated on he had an anaphylactic shock to the premeds and after 4hrs of trying to save him, he passed away.
We are in shock, heart broken and confused. Why? Just why?
Such a big strong boy, such a handsome Podenco, a survivor of the cruel hunting world and then when he’s ready to get the very best… a new knee, a new life, a family waiting, it all dissolves away. It’s gone, just like that.
These tragedies affect us so deeply, it’s hard to continue but we do. Fly high Frosty, don’t be scared anymore, over the bridge you have many friends waiting to greet you, free from pain and hopefully free from mankind. Your wings will be impressive, just like you, I wish we could see them.

BREAKING: A lawsuit has been filed in DC Superior Court by @AnimalOutlook , a DC-based non-profit to stop one of the district's oldest butcher shops from selling foie gras.

Which is French and translates to fat liver.

Harvey's Market opened in 1954 and is now located in the Union Market.

Foie gras is a delicacy in French cuisine. Its flavor is rich, buttery, and delicate selling up to $350 per pound.

Animal Outlook says foie gras is made by force-feeding ducks to enlarge a duck's liver.
