Elite on all levels. Turn around time. Storytelling. Spunky editing choices. Shooter composure and choices in heated moments.
@scottandvideo and crew, hats off to you.
Grade: S tier
That pregame coverage is phenomenal. You know these shooters are out and about for HOURS before the game even begins.
Credit to Texas’ team. They saw the moment and executed on an extremely high level. Loved watching this.
Grade: A+
One of the best of the week comes from Missouri. No surprise as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the long form they’ve put out in the off season. Great shooters & great editing.
Solid A
No one did this better than Maryland last year with their final episode of In Season.
Telling the story of loss requires a whole other level of storytelling in a world of rah rah, win now content.

@TexasFootball just did something silently (no buzz, no promo…) and interestingly for the long form space. They dropped their season series in a batch. Three episodes at once. I like this model and will work through watching soon. First impression: B+

Kentucky is out here making some very, very clean work. Audio quality and pacing control is what stands out the most.
Does turn into a bit of a glorified highlight reel at the end but has the makings of top tier doc work occasionally.
I’ve done the looking and done the math. There’s been a ~300% increase in football programs making long form doc work this off season/in season. And that’s just from scouring SEC, B1G, ACC, XII, MAC.
Athletic departments are learning hype videos only get them so far.
You all film and capture one of the greatest spectacles in the country. The world of college football in all its glory and insanity.
Let’s see who raises the bar.
I’m watching the work coming out of college football creative teams across the country, and the level is rising. Better cinematography. Better storytelling. Better editing. More ambition.
There’s still plenty of slop and “???”. There always will be. But the standard is moving.
Creative departments have never had more talent, access, technology or opportunity to tell these stories at a professional level.
So this season, I’m watching.
Not just the games.
The promos. The doc series. The campaigns. The decisions.
