For over a decade, CFHR has worked on critical and complex issues — often so immersed in the process that we rarely paused to share the journey. In the last few months, we took the time to reflect, consolidate, and open up our work to a wider audience.

None of this would have been possible without the people who shaped this journey. We’re deeply grateful to the CFHR family — the team, partners, and communities who continue to make this work possible.

One of the ways to do this is to talk about your rights with your spouse-to-be or any other member of the family that can support you in taking this conversation forward.
#KnowYourRights#NikkahnamaParho#QaboolHai#MarriageRights
While the law provides a number of rights for both parties in the marriage, societal norms and biases impact the ability of women securing these rights. There is resistance to women asking for these rights, and common phrases or taanay include
“Usnay talaq ka haq kaisay mang liya?” & “Larkiyan aese mamloon mein nahi bola karti!”.
We believe that knowledge of your rights needs to be balanced with the ability to enforce them and break free of these common misconceptions and stereotypes.
