Come across a strange water world. It's half Earth's size and has half her gravity but just 1/10th her mass. On top of that, this planets CO2 rich atmosphere clocks in at 0.00 pressures.
Some great patters on these hot gas giants. Considering their identical atmospheric make up, I'm not sure what caused these differences but lovely to look at. Marbles anyone?
A brown dwarf orbits a large A-Type. It's rings clocked in at 693,000 km. Orbiting it was a fascinating Ice world. The colour doesn't show here but its rings were identical in colour to its surface
A high bodied system contained two life supporting gas giants. The 1st, ammonia based and a set of shining white rings. The 2nd was water based and was huge, even for a gas giant
The next significant find was this beautiful ringed ammonia world. A bit further from its star than they're usually found, probably helped it form these large rings
After a long time getting out of explored space and finding mostly planetless and RICE systems. We hit consecutive systems with WW's. Two very different planets. The first is shockingly similar to Earth. The 2nd had a choking thick ammonia atmosphere
It's been a good start to the journey. We're still in mostly discovered space but amazing found a couple systems completely undiscovered just a couple 100lys out of the bubble. About 40 jumps in we had our first scare when I misjudged distance to a star. Clearly a bit rusty.
We dusted off the old Asp, she was badly beaten when we got back and needed a complete overhaul. Luckily our years as a trader left us plenty to give her a new lease of life and a new lick of paint. We've set a heading for a star 800 lys away. Can't wait to get back out there.
It's been a long time since this log had been used. We've been back in the bubble for years now. After a brief stint as a bounty hunter the majority of my time has been as a trader. But the inevitable call back to the black has come.
Most of the cre have gone their own way. The T9 was left in the hands of my 1st mate. Our apprentice has begun his own journey. The cook opened a resteraunt at Hutton Orbital. The mechanic is still with me and we have 2 new crew members looking to escape the bubble.
Returnal: "this is missing basic features. What game doesnt let you pause ffs"
Sifu: "it's a bit much. They need to add accessibility so more people can play the game"
Elden Ring: "You can't pause and the game actively hates you. 10/10"
Hitting up an early screening with some nachos and settling in for 2 hours of people just leaving me alone with a movie is, quite genuinely, in my top 5 things I like to do and is perhaps the only thing I truly miss about pre-pandemic life
We stand in a clearing in the ancient forest, I begin to read from a tattered book, seemingly older than language itself. Suddenly the ground shakes, trees begin to fall and the very Earth opens up before us. Then a thump! A huge claw has reached out. 1/
