@thepondering_ The EAC has the ability to decertify voting machines, forcing districts to scramble for a new system or rely on paper ballots if they pull this close to election time. Would help the current admin pursue legal challenges to voting results or make a case for them to be thrown out.
It's not exactly hypocrisy. It's more just a function of their ideology, where the rights are afforded to "real Americans" and others don't deserve the same consideration. If they are useful to "real Americans" and keep their heads down, they'll be tolerated, but their public dissent won't and is just a sign of their contempt for America. So it's not that they have double standards, it's just that they have different rules to begin with.
@TheOmniLiberal Lack of transparency is something Trump admires. It's the only way to make sense of which foreign rulers he praises and the ones he calls weak. He wants this for himself.
@notsoErudite skeptics aren't satisfied with simple answers. they need complex narratives with plot twists to uncover the "real villain". it's also why Trump is so successful with skeptics, they prefer exciting fiction over history/reality
