If you want to know why people would be against the zoning changes in Calgary, look at this chart from Minneapolis that compared the city to the remainder of the state after a similar change. Who doesn't want this result? More housing, fewer homeless and lower rent increases.
@NanceeDroo @Martyupnorth_2 Aging infrastructure replacement is necessary regardless of added density. That's part of the point of densification. Higher density reduces shared infrastructure burden on a per home basis. Are you trying to make my point for me?
@NanceeDroo @Martyupnorth_2 @recallgondekyyc Nobody is being ignored. We had an election, this common sense policy is what the elected officials are correctly choosing to enact.
@YYCTKW @jasmine_mian Terry, I'm in your ward and suspect that you're being convinced by the vocal minority that you should abdicate your responsibility as a councillor to do what is right for the city even if it is unpopular.
“In Finland, the # of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.” https://t.co/EH3reri9lz
Is it weird that my read on the Alberta Pension Plan debacle is that people that spend their careers earning in Alberta generally don't want to retire in Alberta (for some reason) and that's why the math is so messed up?
