We will always love you, Dolly. 💛
Thank you for making our world a better place.
For our family, @DollyParton was never just a voice on the radio.
Her music became part of the soundtrack to some of the hardest days of our lives.
When Roe Roe was three years old and fighting leukemia, there were days filled with hospital rooms, medicine, fear and more questions than answers. And somehow, Dolly’s voice could bring a little light into those dark places, especially when the chemo steroids kicked in.
Her songs reminded Roe Roe and us to keep going.
Years later, we watched that little girl who once listened to Dolly while fighting cancer stand beside her big sister, Carson Parry, and actually meet the woman whose music had helped carry her through the valley. Then for this iconic woman to remember us and want to see us again a year later.
I don’t know that I’ll ever have the words to explain what that meant to this dad.
Sometimes a song is just a song.
And sometimes it becomes part of your family’s story.
Dolly gave the world so much more than music. She gave us kindness without conditions. Joy without apology. Faith. Laughter. Generosity. And a reminder that no matter where you come from, you can leave this world a little brighter than you found it.
She certainly did that for us.
Our children will grow older. The videos will become memories. And one day, when they hear that unmistakable voice come through the speakers, I hope they remember just how special it was that their lives crossed paths with hers.
Thank you, Dolly, for the songs.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for bringing a little light into our valley when we needed it most.
And thank you for making this world… and our little corner of it… a better place.
We will always love you. 💛
“CHAD TUCKER MONTH” 💛
Well… today completely caught me off guard.
My family surprised me (yes, blindfolded! 😂) and drove me to King City Hall, where my hometown proclaimed May as “Chad Tucker Month.” Totally unexpected… and incredibly humbling.
Growing up in King shaped so much of who I am. This small town, with its huge heart, gave me the values, friendships, encouragement, and experiences that helped make me who I am today. Any good that’s come from my life or career started right here.
Truthfully, I don’t feel like I’ve done anything extraordinary. I’m just a guy blessed with the opportunity to tell stories, love people, and help folks however I can.
There’s just something about a hometown.
It means the most.
I appreciate you, King.
Poplar Springs Elementary’s 3rd graders stole the show this week for Read Across America! 📚
I had the honor of being their guest reader, and let me tell you — there’s nothing better than a room full of kids discovering the joy of a good story.
Thank you to the amazing teachers and these bright young readers for letting me be part of the fun.
Ralph Sproles told me back in the summer that he had a new book coming out. I said, “Let me know — we’ll do a story on it.”
With the calm faith he lived by, he grinned and said, “Thank you, Pal. I’m not getting any younger. If something happens to me, I hope the book will still be published and that you can share it.”
Ralph was a preacher — a man who trusted God with every chapter of his life. And now, even in his absence, his words continue the work.
You got it, Ralph. We love you.

One of the most incredible days of my life. 💛
Four years ago today, I donated bone marrow to a complete stranger in Australia who was fighting leukemia.
A God thing from the very start—I was a perfect match.
Our young daughter, Roe Roe Tucker, never needed a transplant during her own battle with leukemia. But after Roe Roe’s diagnosis, our dear friend Keasha Rice wanted to do something. In March 2020, she organized a bone marrow drive in Roe Roe’s honor with DKMS. I signed up with a simple cheek swab.
That fall, the call came.
I was a match—for a woman in her early 40s, on the other side of the world, fighting for her life.
One swab. One yes. One moment that became one of the biggest God winks in our family’s cancer journey.
Today—four years later—
that woman is alive and doing well.
If you’ve ever wondered whether a small act can change a life… this is your sign. 🙏

My wife said she needed help getting the house ready for Thanksgiving…
So naturally, like any good husband…
I chose today — of ALL days — to deep clean the freezer. 🙃🦃
