I'm feverish with joy&wonder to share this news. My memoir-in-essays, POJANGMACHA PEOPLE, won the Graywolf Nonfiction Prize!! I wrote abt people who have haunted me my whole life, most of them women. Truly beyond my wildest dreams. THANK YOU, Graywolf, for this incredible honor!

We just won our Senate race! As a son of immigrants, a public school kid, I never could’ve imagined I’d get to serve as a US Senator. I’m deeply humbled and grateful to NJ and for everyone who got us here. I promise I’ll serve with honor and integrity as a public servant for all.
All rained in, reading, reflecting on long-ago memories. Here's one I wrote about my time in the Midwest. About the gluttony of loneliness in motherhood for @OffAssignment Thank you again for the care you gave to this piece 🥰
Rainy days are for one thing only: reading. Check out this stunning piece by @ChaeJunghae, published by our friends at @offassignment, on the (sometimes) heartbreaking solitude of motherhood: https://t.co/iCn8FhWqcV
met Aube, a noveliest with an unforgettable name, a true gem of a human, and an editor extraordinaire for Off Assignment, some time ago. She & the team at OA helped me realize this piece, in all its gut 'n gluttonous glory: https://t.co/yEMHxA24BL…
I met @ChaeJunghae two years ago at a reading for Best American Essays in Boston thanks to @alexanderchee. As an editor, I craved more of her indelible, high-voltage prose, and asked if she’d consider writing an essay for @OffAssignment. This stunner is the result:
I'm so happy to see my dear friend, Keya Mitra @KeyaWrites be recognized for her immense takent, and so honored to have been an early reader of this incredible essay! I can't wait to see it in print when it comes out!! 🥰
So deeply honored to have won The Missouri Review’s 2024 Perkoff Prize in Nonfiction for my essay “Almost Born,” which will be published in the Winter 2024 issue. In the essay I explore the silence surrounding serial miscarriages alongside the communal joy of the Camino Santiago.
"Kundiman is a space that derives its power, impact, and trust from the community of fellows and staff members who comprise it. To ignore, silence, and dismiss this growing majority of voices... stands in direct opposition to [its] values of generosity, inclusion, and courage."
I'm devastated to have to share that @kundimanforever has been betrayed by Sarah Gambito, Joseph Legaspi, Ricco Siasoco, and the Kundiman board. We call for their resignations.
All this because of a simple statement of solidarity with Palestinians.
