It wasn’t by blackmail and agitation that Yoruba scored these historic Firsts in Nigeria:
1. Storey building
2. Court building
3. High-rise building
4. Woman to drive a car
5. Nigerian Musicians to be known beyond Africa
6. Indigenous Chief Justice
7. Television station
8. Football stadium
9. University
10. University Teaching Hospital
11. Political Party
12. DNA Centre
13. Intracity Rail Line
14. Deep Seaport
15. Church
16. Cable-stayed Bridge
17. Longest Bridge
18. Busiest Highway
19. Nobel Laureate
20. Biggest Food Logistics Hub
At the core of Yoruba heritage lies a commitment to service and responsibility in building societies.
The Yoruba are part of the major pillars supporting this country. Future generations would be proud.

I genuinely dislike this lazy narrative people deploy to bully others into silence.
Like, I genuinely cannot stand this lazy, intellectually bankrupt narrative people deploy whenever they want to silence someone: “What have you achieved?” “How much do you earn?” “Where do you live?”
So because someone is wealthy; or merely perceived to be wealthy, they suddenly become the Alpha and Omega of opinions? And because someone isn’t financially successful, their opinion automatically becomes worthless?
This isn’t even about Sir DICK. It is about the ridiculous arrogance we have attached to wealth. We have become so obsessed with monetary status that we now use bank balances as a substitute for arguments, intelligence and common sense.
It is the same pathetic mentality some people display simply because they live abroad: “I’m okay where I am. You’re the one suffering in Nigeria.” Or, “My salary in one day can feed your entire generation.”
And then? What exactly is the argument?
Everyone has a right to discuss what happens in their society. Everyone has a right to approach an issue from whatever angle they choose. You don’t get to win an argument by declaring yourself richer, more comfortable or geographically better positioned.
And whenever the argument stops going your way, you fall back on: “My generation is already comfortable. You’re the ones who will remain here and continue supporting your oppressors.” Very lame.
We really need to grow up. This constant weaponisation of wealth and privilege to silence people is not only intellectually bankrupt; it is genuinely nauseating.
Sir Dickson, none of the candidates are doing the tribe any favor; at the end of the day, we all want good governance.
Would you vote for someone who embraces denigrating your cultural heritage
PS: GRV is not the only candidate running, and he’s certainly not the most competent
In the Yoruba prayer lexicon against evil doers, there is a perfect description for such people:
“Ẹni tí tiẹ ti jóná, kò ma ko má mọ́ tiwa.”
“may someone who has already burnt their own food into ashes not deliberately intensify the fire under our pot when our own food is still cooking nicely, almost ready to be enjoyed.”
Such persons know their own state is down bad, and will never make it, so the only way to find satisfaction is to pull down other states that are doing better, or at least getting things right.
@Wizarab10 See the people who know how to vote good governance in Nigeria.
See d state of a college of health in their region.
The funny thing is all of them did not cry like this when this video came online.
U know what they did, they voted the man again.
Yet they don't vote nonsense
@Iprefer_Kachi@HRM_Olufunmi You've already answered yourself, you're just confusing yourself with everything else you're saying.
"Lagos is a state in the Southwestern region" , who are the dominant tribe in the Southwest? The Yorubas.
Thank you very much.
This just confirms how hypocritical you are. Lagos remains a state (like every other state in Nigeria) in the Southwestern region, and you expect someone who can't even communicate in the language of the locals to rule them.
Better type in Yoruba if you want to be taken seriously. He can only resolve problems in Yoruba.
No problem can be resolved with this English you're speaking.

@HRM_Olufunmi “Range Bathe”😂😂
Dem really dey bathe us with gaslighting oo, Lagos is not a Yoruba State, but I can’t say same for any eastern state, because they don’t even have anything worth claiming.😂😂
What does 2026 have to do with the conversation? Which northern state or eastern state have they ever voted someone who they don't find a cultural match with? I blame Gbadebo for all these. It was his undoing last election. He had 4 years to prepare for this election. How come his Yoruba didn't improve? Man didn't even make effort to get better at the language of the people he wants to lead. Smart Igbo people are even learning Yoruba to help them do business better with Yoruba people. But GRV thinks it's not necessary
@PAPAROCCCO@Paul_Bush_man@NonyeBiko@pella_ika_ Now see your emotions everywhere😂, show me facts .
Calabar is considered as the first capital of Nigeria because it served as the first capital of the Southern Protectorate, the Oil River Protectorate, and Niger Coast Protectorate. This was until the late nineteenth century.
@PAPAROCCCO@Paul_Bush_man@NonyeBiko@pella_ika_ Actual Development 😂, but there’s no eastern state that can ever meet up with the standard of Lagos that was built by Yoruba themselves.
So we should hand over the leadership of our state to an Igbo man, same way a Yoruba man can be Governor in Enugu🌚
You see how you sound 😂
