@elephant_ben I guess I don't understand how this works. Are settlers allowed to jist stop anyone they want? Are they the legal entity tasked with enforcing the law in the west bank?
What I hate about this genre of post is that it treats everything outside of economics as a game. It's like how the SC believes in the Unitary Executive theory until it comes to the federal reserve. I believe in this until it affects things that matter then we go with evidence.
Thomas Edsall saying Dems need to get tougher on immigration and crime, and be clear that there are two sexes, and while trans people need their rights protected, that does not include playing on women's teams or being in prison alongside women.
This is gonna get some heat!

@dots_jenny@jessesingal Emotional distress and physical changes that will be permanent are harm whether it is "natural" or not. I also happen to think people who frame their objections as evidence-based should have evidence for their objections.
@dots_jenny@jessesingal Me? Explain how me needing a affirmative evidence for a positive statement is wrong while Jesse requiring it to disprove a positive statement is right.
@jessesingal That's an incredibly low bar for a claim that is supposedly substantive. A lot of things could possibly happen. We need affirmative evidence that it does before we build worldviews based on it.
They also wanted state legislatures to pick senators and limited votes to men who owned for the same reason. Also why the electoral college is supposed to exist but failed at.
