Stop cluttering your phone with single-use apps just to change a file format. We all have that messy folder: one app for compressing videos, another for merging PDFs, and a sketchy web bookmark for extracting text from images. It is inefficient, and worse, those free websites usually force you to upload your sensitive files to their cloud servers.
We packed everything into Chameleo. It handles photos, videos, audio, PDFs, e-books, and CAD formats natively in one place. But the real advantage is how it works. Every conversion runs completely offline. No cloud processing, no waiting for files to upload, and zero risk of your data being stored elsewhere. No sign-ups required.
It even includes powerful on-device OCR to pull text from images instantly, saving you from manual typing. Your files belong on your phone, not on a random server.
Your iPhone is powerful enough to process almost any file format locally. There is no reason to rely on web tools that upload and store your private data.
Chameleo is the ultimate all-in-one converter built exclusively for iOS. By running 100% locally, nobody ever sees your files but you. It is designed to replace every niche utility cluttering your home screen.
Leo tackles video compression, image formatting for HEIC and WebP, and complex PDF tasks like splitting, merging, and OCR. We even baked in heavy developer tools, letting you test regex, encode URLs, and format JSON without opening a laptop. Whether you need live currency rates, ZIP archive extraction, or e-book formatting for EPUB and MOBI, it handles the job instantly. One app for every conversion, completely offline. https://t.co/hfnwRtBHBE
Building a universal converter app for iOS taught me something fascinating about how we use our phones. Everyone assumes the most popular conversions are simple things like exchange rates or distance. Apple even built a native unit converter into the iOS 18 calculator, and millions of people celebrated it as the best feature of the year.
But behind the scenes of my own app, the data tells a completely different story. The conversions people struggle with the most have nothing to do with math or money. They have to do with reading.
The e-book format war has created an absolute nightmare for anyone trying to consume long-form content on mobile devices. You download a massive research report or a self-published novel, and it almost always arrives in the wrong format for your preferred screen. You might have a beautifully formatted EPUB, but you need to send it to someone who only understands how to open a PDF. Or worse, you have a dense PDF that you desperately want to send to your Kindle, which means you need a clean AZW3 or MOBI file to make the text wrapping actually work.
Most people solve this by desperately searching the web, uploading their private documents to ad-filled converter sites, and hoping the resulting file isnt corrupted. It is a terrible user experience that exposes your personal files to random servers just to change a file extension.
When I built my converter app, I wanted it to cover literally everything you could think of, but I obsessed over getting the e-book engine perfect. I wanted a tool that respects your privacy and handles complex format shifts without wrecking the typography.
Now, instead of hunting for sketchy web tools, you can just open the app, select your EPUB, PDF, MOBI, or AZW3, and instantly shift it to whatever format fits your current device. It handles the heavy lifting locally and securely. The tech industry loves to brag about complex artificial intelligence and spatial computing, but sometimes the most magical thing your phone can do is just make a book readable on the screen you actually want to use.
I kept running into the same frustrating loop. Need a video turned into a GIF? Download an app. Extract images from a PDF? Find another app. Compress a photo? Yet another single-use tool cluttering my phone.
I finally built Chameleo. The name came naturally - chameleons adapt to any environment, and so does this app. One utility that handles video, GIFs, images, PDFs, developer tools, currency, and unit conversions.
Everything runs locally on your device. No uploading files to random servers, no privacy concerns, no waiting.
