Hello Carole,

Absolute pleasure to meet you recently. I don’t normally lower myself to having online spats but feel it’s only fair to give my side of events given you’ve decided to omit a lot of relevant information.

Firstly I’d like to hold my hands up and apologise for being in the women’s section. I had presumed they were unisex and followed my daughter in whilst she tried on some clothes.

I’d like to point out that my daughter is only 10 years old and not the 15 years + you speculated. She is a child. Not a teenager.

When I realised my mistake I removed myself to the unisex entrance of the changing rooms where people queue for the cubicles. You decided this wasn’t far enough away despite the store manager later confirming it was fine.

At this stage you weren’t happy that you weren’t getting the attention and outcome you felt you deserved. You raised your voice and on multiple occasions told me your name was ‘Carole Malone’ and asked whether I knew ‘How many Twitter followers you had?’ You seemed perplexed that I neither knew who you were nor cared how many followers you had.

When asking for the manager, you requested a particular manager. I later learnt from the staff this is because you are known to the staff as someone who regularly causes issues in the store.

Words hold a lot of power Carole and you should know this better than most. Work on spreading love not hate. Due to your post I’ve been labelled as a ‘nonce’ and ‘pervert’ for taking my 10 year old daughter into a changing room.

This will be my only response. My focus is on my daughter, not social media arguments. I’d rather spend my time helping her grow into a kind, respectful woman rather than someone who stirs up division via untruths.
