COUNTY DURHAM ALERT! 7-YEAR-OLD LOCKED IN GARAGE AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED

On Thursday evening, shortly after 5PM, a 7-year-old was allegedly lured into a garage in the Sunnybrow area of County Durham by a 13-year-old male who cannot be named for legal reasons.

The older boy then allegedly closed the garage door and bolted it shut before turning to the 7-year-old and subjecting him to a prolonged sexual assault.

Feeling incredibly scared, confused and overwhelmed, the young child begged to be let out of the locked garage.

The incident was reported to Durham Constabulary. Specialist officers from CID were witnessed over the next 24 hours collecting evidence from the scene.

One neighbour said that clothing items including trousers and boxers were taken. The parent of the 7-year-old child said that her son underwent a medical examination where DNA was taken.

The parents have been advised that the investigation is to take no further action at this stage due to unknown reasons.
