In #Nairobi, 🇰🇪, from 2 to 4 June 2026, the @_AfricanUnion convened a capacity-building session with RECs/RMs and Civil Society Organisations to strengthen the #Mainstreaming of #ChildProtection indicators within Continental Early Warning Systems (#CEWS) and translate the AU Operational Guidance Note on Child-Sensitive Early Warning Systems into practice. A stronger and more coherent early warning system is one that recognises children's lived realities, risks, and vulnerabilities early.

The discussions underscored a critical shift for #APSA: child protection information must not sit at the margins of analysis, but shape the signals, judgments and decisions that drive preventive action.
