@pedreamc_thru Nice work finishing lesson 5. Hanzi is the slow part for almost everyone. Stroke order rules help a bit: top to bottom, left to right, outside before inside.
@888wing Nice, drawing everything in code is a fun constraint. My ink-wash scenes for a kung fu game are all drawn in code too, no painted art. Do you tune the effects by eye or against some number?
Spent a week building my kung fu game with AI.
30k+ lines of TypeScript. 8 opponents in real styles. Ink-wash scenery drawn in code.
Then I played it. It didn't hook me.
No more code until the gameplay is figured out.
I just posted about the "just one more feature" trap 😂
New month, new stuff to build.
I’m working on games, apps, and whatever random ideas pop into my head.
Any devs, indie hackers, or people building cool stuff here? Would love to connect and see what you’re working on.
What are you building this November?
I ran bots on my kung fu game's duel rules.
If the defender never changes anything, the attacker wins 98-100%.
If both change one thing each, it drops to 48%.
That's the whole reason I'm making players adapt mid-fight.
Indie dev from China here 🇨🇳
Just a guy building games, apps, and random stuff that pops into my head.
Would love to meet more builders from around the world.
Where are you from, and what are you working on? 👀
The hardest part so far wasn't the code.
It was admitting the game I'd built wasn't fun.
Builders, how do you know when to fix it and when to start over?
9 days into my kung fu game. I've changed my mind 22 times.
Then I played it, and it didn't hook me.
So I stopped coding and rethought it: a mountain nobody can climb alone.
Just started building it. Would you climb?
(Built with AI. Every frame and every note of this video is code too.)
@CleanFix_Dev Strangers. Friends are too nice, they'd say it's fun either way. It still only runs on my machine, so I had 10 bots with different personalities play it first. The results were hard to read, which is why I need real people.
@PeikGabriel Just checked out your game, looks really cool! Love the ink-wash style. I’m actually working on an ink-wash game too, though it’s a pretty different style haha.
30 projects in one month is wild! Definitely down to connect! 😄
@sebs_tweets Agree. AI got me a whole kung fu game fast, but nothing told me it wasn't fun until I played it myself. That part still has to come from you.
@vin_niss@carrotsucker64 Nice, that carries over well. Chinese stroke order is pretty consistent: top to bottom, left to right, outside before inside. Even the box 口 goes left side first, then top and right, then the bottom.
