The kicker is that the position I keep applying to is ALSO only 19 hours a week, a slight bump in pay and no benefits. They will take a bachelor's but they would prefer a masters...

I prefer not to take on a mountain of debt to get a part time job.

For my experience of 14+ years working in this field, 4 years of that running a department by myself... I get 19 hours a week without benefits at an entry level position. Every time I have applied to move up, I am denied because I am lacking in a piece of paper.

@Humanlty1o1 Too many heart and blood issues in my family for me to even consider it and I would have hit breaks hard after my research anyway. I'm not antivax, just pro-research. The writing is all over the walls at this point but they will defend it till they're blue in the face anyway.
