@MeanmuthaC @thomjeff Because regardless of best intentions, it has major negative inpacts on the downtown and economy. Warren Maddox listed the cures, and they were GNB and GC responsibilities. Why does media not inform that lobby efforts should be focused on MLAs and MPs?

@fredcityandy Ask the City's traffic engineers. Light sequences must be based on complex computer modeling. Assume adding 20 seconds delay for a left turn signal eventually backs up traffic elsewhere.

@BrianHarp @BrentStaeben I agree municipalities should do all they can. It's just that that other 2 levels hold all the playing cards (tax $, legislation, staff expertise)

@BrianHarp @BrentStaeben And the very predictable "it's everyone's job", when the province, by legislation.(Robichaud govt), removed that role - and that ability - from all municipalities. Most people don't know their prov. govt history..

@BrentStaeben Let the other levels of govt give the cities $100s of millions, plus the empowering legislation, then the cities can deal with the issues. Never likely to happen though. Until then, nothing but task forces and community mtgs, with no real impact. Never will.

@BrentStaeben Cities now pressured to spend $ on the big holistic issues (that they can't solve) when that tax $ already rests with the Prov. and Fed. Cities $ meant for what they are legislated to do (roads, water, public safety, planning, recreation, etc).
