🚨 BREAKING 🚨
Last year, our colleague, friend and union representative Ruth Hannan was fired from the RSA due to trade union activity.
A few weeks ago, the courts found the RSA to be guilty of breaking employment law by dismissing her.

Since March 2022, 86 skilled staff have left the RSA due to pay & toxic environment. We joined RSA believing we would help shape radical change but the reality is so different.
Watch these brave RSA leavers share their stories
Support us in our upcoming strike on 10 & 18 Oct!
So proud of my previous colleagues this week. The level of skill, knowledge and passion amongst this team is mind-blowing. @theRSAorg listen to the @RsaUnion demands so they can go back to putting this talent into making the world a better place for all #FairPay4RSA#RSAStrikes
Wish Andy Haldane showed some concern for his staff and paid them properly. But we are where we are
@RsaUnion going on strike for the first time ever! https://t.co/OjOpB3EU6b
Hello again! We’re back, and wanted to update you on what we’ve been up to. We submitted our pay claim to mgmt in January, to recognise brilliant, hard-working RSA staff at a time of significant financial challenges. 🧵 1/7 https://t.co/3L5XuAv6Tc
I continue to be baffled and angry by this entire situation at @theRSAorg Why is it so hard for you to do anything above the legal minimum? Please listen to the remaining staff you have left!
1/7 You may have seen that we were due to begin negotiating with mgmt. Two days before our first meeting, ignoring 86% of us voting for a union and a say in our working lives, mgmt said they’re not interested in discussing anything beyond the legal minimum with us, and cancelled.
@British_Airways 5 days and counting that my luggage has still not been located, let alone returned to me. The portal you recommend never updates! When will I get my suitcase back? I had to attend my mother-in-laws 60th meal in Houston in tracksuit bottoms! Please help!
Another Sunday and another @Observer article - this time outlining @theRSAorg senior leadership intimidation tactics of their staff. Stay strong @RsaUnion. What will next Sunday bring? Hopefully a u-turn and voluntary union recognition #dejavu
As @_tomwall reports in today's @Observer, staff have faced a backlash from mgmt that included a member of staff being asked not to return to work and staff receiving another telling off 🧵 1/4. https://t.co/PXnHcSvWaz
A little speechless. @RsaUnion was the first and only union I have ever joined and I found it to be an extremely positive, inclusive and collaborative forum, striving to make the RSA the best place of work that it could be for all 🙂
🚨Important update - please RT🚨Thank you! We were blown away by the support we received in the last few days. Sadly, one of our union colleagues involved in the Observer article on Sunday was prevented from returning to work on Monday as a consequence of their involvement. 1/6
This makes for sad reading, particularly as I worked closely on the future of work programme during my 4 years at the RSA and was at the awards ceremony when we gave @IWGBunion a future of work award for their great efforts. I hope the @RsaUnion gets recognised soon
We’re the RSA union, a majority collective of staff working with @IWGBunion towards recognition. You can find out more about why we’re seeking recognition in today’s @ObserverUK by @_tomwall and here’s a short🧵on how you can support us 1/6

Anyone looking to buy a place in Croydon please avoid these estate agents! They have treated my friend @gbemi_babs appallingly. Her new build flat is currently uninhabitable and they are ignoring her calls now she has completed. Fix this @CountrywideUK@BairstowEvesUK
@CountrywideUK@BairstowEvesUK worst estate agents ever! You have sold me a faulty property and refuse to take responsibility and now refuse to answer my calls and emails. My property is inhabitable because you LIED about the condition. You will be liable for this.
Many thanks to @Modern_Lockey and @danielsusskind
for a fascinating discussion. Thanks also to our audience and tweeters. Get thinking about the future of work and read @theRSAorg productivity essays out today https://t.co/YcHnS3Iz8j
@RSAEvents#RSAwork
@Danielsusskind it's important for us to fix not just what we teach and how we teach but also when we teach. Lifelong learning is key to fixing this problem @RSAEvents#RSAwork#theRSA Have a look at the RSA's cities of learning for more thinking on this! https://t.co/OiGfKIoatD
@Danielsusskind argues for a conditional basic income. His worry about UBI is that it doesn't ask for anything in return. As a society we want to feel that everyone is contributing. Could non-economic contributions (volunteering) be recognised instead? @RSAEvents#RSAwork#theRSA
@Danielsusskind as long as we value both the outcome and the ways things are done, certain tasks will not be fully encroached upon by technology e.g. baristas vs coffee pod machines @RSAEvents#RSAwork#theRSA
@Danielsusskind many non-routine tasks (e.g. medical diagnosis) that we thought would never be automated are now well within reach. What is interesting is that they don't make these decisions in human ways. This raises new challenges and questions @RSAEvents#RSAwork#theRSA
@Danielsusskind the challenges of the future of work are how do we share out wealth, how do we share out meaning and purpose when work is less available and how do we deal with the power of big tech @RSAEvents#RSAwork#theRSA
