Discussion between those who seek truth will lift humanity out of the darkness.
True change will only come when we can strangle our egos and recognize that we may have things to learn from our enemy.
Hate and slander will never change anyone’s mind.
I don’t think anyone can really be convinced in this way. I think the right way, if it interests you at all, is to ask your way through it. Because surely if you’re a truly curious person, you’d consider that maybe you don’t fully understand their beliefs and maybe there is more to it than you realize.
If you were correct though and they are actually wrong, your questioning will plant a better seed to help them realize it than any logical argument ever could. Better to have people come to their own conclusions than to try and force conclusions upon them
To answer your actual question though which was should you take action here, I’d lean towards no unless they ask your opinion. I’d also consider the impact this belief has on their life. Is it giving them happiness and leading them to be a good person? If yes, I see no reason to disrupt that.
Holy fuck you can actually just go online and get expert level information about anything that exists in 2 seconds you can find the best people in the world at anything and to listen to what they’re saying online and learn how to do anything we take that for granted so badly imagine 50 years ago knowing this would be possible
I think we can best try to understand God by looking at core “programming” of ourselves and the world. For example on the whole we tend to have a natural inclination to detest evil. My best guess is that this world is a proving ground of sorts where we need to conquer evil and suffering, both as individuals and as a singular entity. But I also assume any time I guess about God that I’m horribly wrong.
Also when I say God what I really mean is whatever that higher power is - I believe there is more to what we are and why we are than just random luck and chemistry, any further guesses about what ‘God’ means I have no unshakeable beliefs
