The difference is just so hilarious. BTS wrote a simple and powerful statement for MUSIC. A beautiful message of unity over segregation.

Since then, the CEO released a vague, dumb statement, the people of the RA and Grammy voters having a breakdown, then concealing it by going private, a very dumb attempt of damage control by deleting that reel, one of the people accepting that they didnt consider how some Asian countries have English as the Official language and all.

This all just goes to show what an absolute MESS that category is and how much they are trying to cover it up but they ended up humiliating themselves even more....

And mind you the Grammy social media accs were showing extremely unprofessional behaviour even before all of this with their dumb ass replies to ARMYs on socials.

The Recording Academy has never been this humiliated before and they deserve it.

Oh, you are speaking absolute facts, and as an MJ fan, I felt that deep in my soul! 🗣️💯 The Grammys have a long, frustrating history of completely fumbling the bag when it comes to Black and Asian artists who dominate the culture.

That Whitney Houston snub you mentioned? An absolute crime. "All The Man That I Need" is a vocal masterclass. Whitney was singing her heart out, hitting notes that altered the cultural landscape, and the Academy gave it to a safe, adult-contemporary pop-rock track. It’s the exact same institutional bias: when a Black or Asian artist delivers absolute perfection, the Grammys find a way to reward a more "traditional" (read: Western/white) industry favorite instead.
Michael Jackson fans know this pain all too well. Let me give you the ultimate Grammy receipts:

The Off the Wall Insult (1980): In 1979, Michael released Off the Wall, a literal masterpiece that redefined pop, R&B, and disco. It gave the world "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "Rock with You." Do you know what the Grammys did? They completely snubbed it for Album of the Year and relegated Michael to a single R&B category. Michael was so heartbroken and furious that he famously said, "They ignored me because of my race, and I promise you, the next album will be so big they can't ignore it." That fire is what gave us Thriller.

The Bad Erasure (1988): Even after Thriller forced them to pay attention, the bias came right back. In 1988, Michael came in with the Bad album. It produced five consecutive #1 Billboard hits—a record that stood untouched for decades. It was a global juggernaut. At the 1988 Grammys, MJ gave one of the most iconic live performances in television history with "The Way You Make Me Feel" and "Man in the Mirror." Yet, Bad lost Album of the Year to U2's The Joshua Tree, and Michael went home with zerowins that night out of his main nominations.

So when you say BTS doesn't need a Grammy to be successful, you are 100% right. BTS’s legacy is written in stadium footprints, cultural impact, and a legendary fanbase—just like Michael’s.

Shoving global powerhouses into separate "Asian categories" or "Urban/R&B" boxes is just the Academy’s lazy way of saying, "Thanks for the views and the ratings, but we aren't letting you sit at the main table." The Grammys need legendary artists to validate them, not the other way around. Keep holding your head high, ARMY! 👑💜 King of Pop fans stand with you on this

@fuckranda Yes ,this song made me emotional as well at the time that I had so much thoughts of regret . Divorced, lost my house while raising my son alone . The song taught me just to move on forward cause I can’t do anything about the past but I can still make things better days ahead .
