ORPHANAGES WERE FACTORIES.

At the end of the 19th century, orphanages in America and Europe housed millions of children. The official figures are staggering. In New York City alone, over 100,000 children lived in orphanages in 1890.

One hundred thousand. In just one city.

The official explanation? Poverty. Immigration. Disease. Parents who died in epidemics.

But one question no one asks:
If these children were indeed orphans of immigrants who had died of disease, why did they need new names? Why did they have to forget their past? Why were their records destroyed?🤔
