If you’re going to accuse someone of something, you should at least be able to articulate the charge. All that stumbling and stuttering was embarrassing. Was he having a stroke?
This isn’t about me defending Newsom. This is about me trying to force the hypocrisy into the open. You can’t say someone else has exhibited “questionable judgment” in their private lives and still be cheerleading like the Clovers for Trump!
The vile comment about Michelle Obama is part of a nearly 20-year project to deny and defile the Obamas because their very existence confronted and did damage to the centuries-old lie of white supremacy and white control.
Part of that project hardened into a cruel conspiracy: Barack was gay and Michelle was trans. It was an attempt to emasculate him and defeminize her, while creating a scandal and branding them as secret-keepers and liars.
As long as the Obamas exist as qualified, competent, unmarred people, an example of excellence, they remain dangerous.
I had to open the library for this man so that he could read and get read. #ReadingRainbow
Donald Trump was an id*** for getting us into this war with Iran, and he and anyone else who believes that the Iranians are not in a stronger position now, or who believes that we can extricate ourselves from this war painlessly, is also an id***. And yes, I just met that young man when I walked onto the set. Lol. #SorryToThatMan
The non-answer was the answer. I will not have civil discussions with these conspiracy theorists. It just elevates and normalizes there positions, which in turn eats away at our democracy. Instead, I will mock them mercilessly.
Notice @ananavarrofl and @lzgranderson fighting for their lives to keep from laughing. lol.
When your opponents attack each other, get out of their way and let them! When former Trump aide Caroline Sunshine laid into Trump donor Hal Lambert about Trump’s disastrous Iran war, I crossed my arms and enjoyed the show. @ananavarrofl tried to keep a stunned @lzgranderson quiet to let them go at it. I wish I had popcorn. And, Caroline wasn’t wrong. Bravo! They fight, we win.
I feel strongly about this: journalists have an ethical responsibility to call these election lies what they are. We just stop hiding behind the euphemistic “without proof.” Or democracy is fragile and under assault. Patrician journalistic niceties serve no one is a moment of crisis, not even journalism. We are called to reveal and convey truth. It starts with every interaction. It starts in the moment. It starts to their faces. It feels good to be free to do what I think is right.
Imagine coming on tv to say that Democrats only questioned a female accuser because she accused a Democrat when less than a week earlier you had come on the very same show and questioned a female accuser because she had accused Trump.
Imagine knowing that I was going to be on the panel with you and not anticipating that I would have ALL the receipts.
Imagine getting so nervous when I threaten to read your words back to you that you issue what sounded to me like a threat to sue.

APPRECIATION POST: Thank you to everyone who continues to read me on #BlowTheStack on Substack and watch my tv appearances on @cnn. You make the work possible. I’m forever in your debt.
I absolutely HATE lying. The way I was raised, lying was one of the worst things you could do. That lesson is engrained in me. It is a lie to say that Russia’s interference in our 2016 election was debunked, and it’s a lie that the Obama administration targeted Trump.
I thought, “surely we’ll get through this segment on #stephencolbert without the constant lying,” but I was wrong. It’s exhausting to deal with a relentless flood of falsehoods, but I’m going to call out the lie every time. Political comedy wasn’t Johnny Carson’s forte, but it is an ABSOLUTE LIE to say that he “never waded into politics.”
Imagine coming on a debate show thinking that you can get away with presenting anecdotes as empirical evidence. Especially when I’m there, and I’ve done the homework. You look ridiculous. #MrReceipts
ICYMI: my appearance Monday on @TheArenaCNN with @kasie after the San Diego mosque shooting. It important to be clear: our mass shooting epidemic is a policy failure. Other countries also have citizens with issues, but only America has this relentless drumbeat of shootings. We could stop it; we’ve chosen not to.
Nothing chaps my cheeks more than a person who works against the interests of their own group. So, I will expose and mock them relentlessly. This is Ajua Mason, Texas Republican, hair stylist, makeup artist and wedding stylist, an apparent favorite on one of the FOX News shows.
