Today, a Mecklenburg County jury found Jamie Briggs guilty of the 2020 shooting that killed 57-year-old Roscoe Wright Sr. and injured his son. The DA’s Homicide Team prosecuted the case.

Today, Andy Garcia was sentenced to life in prison after a Mecklenburg County jury found him guilty of the March 2021 shooting death of 30-year-old Selvin Yovani Lara-Reyes. The DA’s Homicide Team prosecuted the case.

Today, Emmanuel Collins was sentenced to life in prison after a Mecklenburg County jury found him guilty of the July 2020 shooting death of 52-year-old Jessie Hurley. The DA’s Homicide Team prosecuted the case.

Today, Zaki Davis was found guilty of the 2021 murder of 7-month-old Israel Williams. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The DA’s Homicide Team prosecuted the case.

On Friday, after jurors indicated they would be unable to reach a unanimous verdict, Derek Johnson Jr. pled guilty to second-degree murder for the 2020 shooting death of Marcus Withers. He was sentenced to 157-201 months in prison. The DA’s Homicide Team prosecuted the case.

DNA analysis that helped identify Ingersoll as the suspect was paid for by a National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) grant. Through the grant, the DA’s Office has worked in collaboration with @CMPD to review cold case sexual assault and rape investigations. 2/2

Today, Antonio Rollins was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after a Mecklenburg County jury found him guilty of the February 2020 murder of 25-year-old Demarcus Mack. The DA’s Homicide Team prosecuted the case.
