I’ve just embarked on building my third WYSIWYG text editor and this time around I chose SlateJS as my base. A primary motivator was the active community and it all rendering in React.

@brian_d_vaughn Am I the only one one Twitter that doesn’t follow an celebrities or politicians? I’ve been on Twitter for 13 years and have exclusively followed devs that make cool stuff. I’ve never actually had to mute anyone or block anyone, and my feed has been pretty clean.

@brian_d_vaughn I’ve worked a lot in Rich Text editors… yeah for sure (and am working on a new one now).

At the same time it’s also an immensely complex problem space. I’m kind of amazed at how much web browsers manage to abstract over with inputs and contenteditable .

@brian_d_vaughn Maybe have someone else finish the mix for you? This is a problem that can pretty easily be solved with a bit of money (and not necessarily even a ton).

If mixing isn’t the enjoyable part of making music for you, delegate it to someone that it is for.

I have most of my playlists set to download and every morning I get in the car and it seems their app can’t update the playlists in the background so the daily mixes aren’t downloaded consistently.

@b3ll I’m hauling it on a 3rd gen iPad Pro (A13). Mostly it lets me have a game and another app up at once. Pretty nice improvement.

Notably though safari can stutter a bit while the game is running. Still I’d rather have it how it is than not have it.

@brian_d_vaughn The evidence has been pretty clear that even surgical masks don’t much. N95s work. Everything else is performance and to make people feel like they have some level of control before vaccines were available.
Cloth masks in particular were always a fashion statement.
