On January 1, 2020 the plastic restriction ordinance kicks in and we'll be called upon to do our part by skipping plastic straws at area restaurants. If enough of us take these #SmallSteps we can do a lot to curtail the plastic pollution problem.
One of the #StPeteEarthDay2020 trees we planted two years ago. We're at 21 and on our way to planting 50 by the 50th Anniversary of the Earth Day movement.
@PeterSchorschFL Ironically, if the rest of the country took time to officially support Medicare for All we wouldnโt be having this discussion. Our city council can walk and chew gum. This is a state law thatโs causing the problems.
@blinddog007@BernieSanders You have the right to purchase a weapon but not any weapon you want. There are already restrictions on the purchase of certain weapons.
@AnthonyClose@mareevs@TB_Times My husband is still employed at USF and heโs been impressed so far. I think we should give him a chance to get settled in. I bet we see good things.
I love serving this community and Iโm so grateful for the trust the people of Pinellas County have placed in me. I look forward to earning your vote again in 2020 and keeping the positive momentum going so future generations can experience our little piece of paradise too!
American cities are thriving, leading the way. St. Pete is one of them. I appreciate @GovRonDeSantis letting us do our thing, respecting home rule and FL DEP recommendations. Minimizing plastic is one little thing we can do to help Florida's natural environment. #SunShinesHere
When you get the attention of @USRepKCastor, @Kriseman@susanglickman and @steviesmiles14, you know it's a worthy topic. Check out the preview for WEDU's That's All I'm Saying, which debuts tonight at 8:30 p.m. https://t.co/Po3oXpMybU

Earth Day is not just about appreciating nature and our wild places. Itโs about protecting our natural environment. Florida has been doing a dismal job at that. Time to get serious!
Hard to believe Wengay Newton ever served on the St. Petersburg City Council given his vote to preempt us and every other local gov. "If straws were so harmful, how come less than 20 local governments have passed bans?" Really?
