Social enterprise - selling dried food in Harare, also found in Duggies Butchery in Marondera. We make products from buying directly from rural farmers - who struggle to sell in Harare because they don’t have adequate resources to sell in the capital.

In just 20 days, they have dried a combined total of over 500kgs of fresh produce. In particular, Ruyanano from Guruve whose story we shared last week recovered 70% of her fresh produce. She is now expecting to increase her income by 15% once all her dried tomatoes have sold out.

In 2018 @FAO shared articles on the impact of food waste in Sub-Saharan Africa, which reported that up to 30% of food goes to waste before being consumed. We decided to further understand the impact of these statistics in #Zim.

We then started a virtual training program to help these farmers dry their produce in effective and hygienic practice. We delivered our training virtually to 10 farmers during the lockdown in #Masvingo, #Guruve, #Kadoma, #Gweru & #Harare.
