@ggreenwald The groups aren't pro-palestinian, they are anti-semitic. These groups support terrorism and genocide. In addition to what they support they have also been violent themselves.
@realJustATheory@GenFlynn Vote splitting is not uncommon. It can happen for numerous reasons. It is also not uncommon for people to vote for the top of the ticket and nothing else. That isn't to say that there may have been funny business but just that this would not be proof of it.
@SaysSimonson@dragonfire2016 Thomas Massie also voted against it on Free Speech grounds
and Ritchie Torres voted against the resolution by mistake and changed his vote.

@clarksonlawson_ To those saying that the Israelis had guns. Most did not. Israel also had rather strict gun control. I say had because since the horrible events of October 7th, Israel has relaxed their gun control laws massively. Permit requests are up 98%
I've come to the conclusion that the most morally bankrupt commentators on the Israeli-Palestinian war are not those for or against but those who stayed quiet after the Hamas massacre and waited for the Israeli response because they desperately wanted to claim a moral equivalence so they wouldn't have to take sides, claim 'they are all bad actors' and stay on good terms with their feckless social group.
@PaulHook_em I want a conservative who can win the votes necessary to be speaker. The Republicans need to get in a room. Stop voting for who has more support and instead figure out who everyone would get behind. It likely won't be anyone's first choice. Great. You learned how to compromise.
For the House Speaker race: Don't do another vote to see who has more support. That is a waste of time. Find out who has the support of 216. There is at least one person in the caucus that everyone can agree on.
Find that person!
@WayneDupreeShow Maybe instead of stupid popularity contest votes find someone that 216 people will agree to vote for.
It does not matter if one person wins more votes in conference if not everyone in the conference will back that person.
@proudelephant This was a stupid way to conduct this vote. They should have chosen a consensus candidate. Each vote is as if the person won the nomination. Who can get to 216. If more than one can then see who gets more votes this way.
